Though she was discovered on Britain's Got Talent, Susan Boyle is reportedly launching a professional music career here in the US. According to London's Daily Mirror, Susan Boyle would not only release her first album in the United States, but she'll perform a series of concerts for American audiences. NBC's Keith Miller has the story.
She's had a makeover, hired a manager, and discovered that a little confidence can go a long way. And that is her collision with fame. Susan Boyle told Today Show's Meredith Vieira that she is finally having a wonderful time.
"It's just being unbelievable! It is just indescribable. It is a bit like, um, being plucked from obscurity. You don't know how what is gonna happen. You don't know how it is gonna end. I don't want it to end. It's just incredible."
Cool, calm and collected, that's how Susan Boyle appears as she launches her career. She didn't feel that way in the final week of Britain's Got Talent. Sudden celebrity overwhelmed her.
"I think she has a unique opportunity now,to become a genuine superstar, but for her music, not just because of her background over Rocky Balboa story element, or any of those things, actually for her voice.”
She is spending a lot of her time in London, cutting her debut album, and polishing up her live act for her upcoming tour. Boyle has support now. Lawyers will ensure that she is not taken for a ride. And a doctor travels with her to help ease her into her new life as a celebrity.
"The impact was like a demolition ball. You know and anyone who has that kind of impact they would find it hard to get a head around it."
But the successful singing career can be judged with a doctor order. Boyle's hired a financial wizard to help guide the super group U2 to fame and fortune, to manage her career. And judging by the power of her voice, she stands to make millions of dollars in record sales and concert tours.
